Terms of Service
By installing or using DeskDash, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please uninstall the app.
1. The service
DeskDash is a desktop application that displays calendar, stock, weather, news, and Slack data on your wallpaper, and optionally generates wallpaper images via Google Gemini. The free tier allows one AI background generation per install. Subscriptions unlock unlimited generations.
2. Your responsibilities
- You are responsible for the accounts you connect (Google, Microsoft, Slack) and the actions DeskDash takes on your behalf using their tokens.
- You won't use DeskDash to generate AI images that are illegal, infringing, harassing, or designed to deceive (impersonation, deepfakes, CSAM, etc.). Google's Gemini API use restrictions apply.
- You won't reverse-engineer the bootstrap key authentication to abuse the AI generation Worker beyond your fair-use limit.
3. Subscriptions and refunds
Subscriptions are billed by Apple (Mac App Store), Microsoft (MS Store), or Stripe (direct download). Refunds are governed by the respective platform's policy. Cancel any time from your account on that platform; access continues through the end of the paid period.
4. Disclaimer of warranties
DeskDash is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. The data we surface (stock prices, calendar events, weather, news) comes from third-party APIs and may be incorrect, delayed, or unavailable. Don't rely on DeskDash for time-critical decisions.
We don't warrant that the AI background generation will produce any particular result, or that it will produce a result at all. AI models are stochastic and provider-dependent.
5. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, DeskDash and its operator are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or business opportunity arising from use of the app — even if we've been advised of the possibility. Total liability is capped at the amount you've paid for DeskDash in the prior twelve months.
6. Termination
You can stop using DeskDash at any time by uninstalling. We can revoke access to the AI generation Worker if your usage becomes abusive (rapid retries, attempts to bypass the gate, generating content that violates Google's policies); you'll still be able to use DeskDash with static wallpapers and live integrations.
7. Changes
We may update these terms; the "Last updated" date reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be announced in-app or via email if we have one for you.
